Jesus, My Priest

Hebrews 1:3 et. al.

 

 

1.  What is a Priest, anyway? 

             

 

2.  Why do I need a Priest?

             

 

3.  Who is qualified to be my priest?

 

3a.  He must be a man.

 

            3b.  He must be entirely sinless.

            He who makes atonement for others must himself be entirely free from that which makes atonement necessary.  A.W. Pink

 

            3c.  He must be perfectly holy.

 

            3d.  He must act voluntarily.

                       

            3e.  He must be united to his people.

 

            3f.  He must be divine.

             

 

4.  What does Christ offer to me now?

 

            4a.  An effective sacrifice for my sins.

           

            4b.  He intercedes for me at the right hand of God.

           

            4c.  He blesses me. 

             

 

5.  What shall we offer to Christ now?

 

1.  I hope you will hate sin more, considering that Jesus took on flesh, came to earth, suffered, died, and was raised because of your sin and mine.

 

2.  I hope you will love Jesus more.  I hope you will be amazed at who he is and what he has done.
