Godliness Rather than Gifts

Galatians 5:22-23; 1 Co 12:1

 

1.  The Fruit is a Portrait of Christ.

             

 

2.  The Christian’s life is to be in sharp contrast to the world. 

            But the fruit of the Spirit is…

             

 

3.  This contrast is supernatural in origin. 

            But the fruit of the Spirit is…

           

 

4.  This contrast is also a natural process.

            But the fruit of the Spirit is…

           

 

5.  Forsaking this process has eternal consequences.

 

 

By way of application:

 

1.  To produce fruit we need the word of God.

 

2.  We need humility.

 

3.  We need discipline. 

 

4.  We need patience.

 

5.  We need the Gospel.
