Clinging to Christ
Colossians 3:1-4

1. Clinging to Christ will find me continually seeking heavenly things. v. 1

Biblical means of seeking heavenly things:

The Scriptures

The preaching and teaching of the Scriptures

Prayer

Memorization and meditation. Filling your mind with biblical content and dwelling upon the truths found there.

2. Clinging to Christ will find me increasingly mindful of heavenly things. v. 2

Here are some suggestions:

Pray with the Psalmist, “Give me an undivided heart…”

Hold loosely to possessions.

Press after an understanding and possession of the fruits of the Spirit. Gal 5:22-24.

3. Clinging to Christ will find me motivated and sustained by heavenly things. vv. 3-4

We have a new life

Not only do we have a new life, we have a sure future.
