Worship that God Accepts
Psalm 50
Worship is a celebration of and a proper response to our covenant relationship with God.
1. Christian worship is submission to God as he is revealed in the Bible (Ps 50:1-6)
Psalm 95:6-7; Heb 12:28
Worship says to God that he alone is God and that he has control and rule over all things in my life.
2. Christian worship is a heart of thankfulness for the goodness of God. (7-13)
Worship remembers that God brought us into relationship with himself.
We must not worship worship.
3. Christian Worship is expressed in obedience to God. (16-23)
One cannot take any comfort from the externals of a Sunday church service when all week their hearts are belching forth the ugliness of disobedience to Gods Word.
To order our ways rightly is to respond to God as he says, on his terms. In this he receives all glory in showing to us his great salvation.
