The Beauty of a Life of Resolve
Daniel 1:8-21
1. Resolved to depend upon God Who is Faithful
Build things into your daily life that remind you of Gods faithfulness.
Prayer
that recognizes dependence on God
Journals
that record Gods acts of faithfulness and answers to prayer.
Be
aware of how you react to financial news in these days.
Pay
attention to your reaction when things precious to you are threatened.
Pay
attention to important things and guard yourself against sin.
Prepare
to be sinned against. (Not pessimism!)
2. Resolved to trust
in Gods favor (mercy).
They received favor from God through their captors.
They
received favor from God (diet results).
They received favor from God to contribute to the culture without compromise.
3. Resolved to trust
in Christ alone for your transformation.
Fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith.
Look to him
to make you faithful, not your fleshly efforts to copy the
faithfulness of Daniel.
Ask him to make you a
breath of
heavenly wisdom and beauty wherever you go this week.
Ask him to enable you
to speak of
his saving mercy.
Ask him to grant you
endurance for
your days of trial and difficulty, to run the race with endurance.
Ask him to help you long to see his face and with the appearance of his face to be satisfied.
